Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a form of short-term therapy that aims to improve couple relationships by rekindling the physical and emotional bond that can get sacrificed to disappointment. Unlike other therapeutic approaches, EFT assumes that emotion can be a source of healing and works with specific emotions to increase adaptation. Similar to much of the research about the efficacy and effectiveness of couple therapy approaches, EFT research samples consist of white, heterosexual couples or research studies do not report further identifying information.
